Loretta K. Clark Hunter’s husband Paul Daniel died in 1999. She died in March, 2012. Years before passing she had prepared a will outlining her wishes regarding the final disposition of her assets. Mrs. Hunter wanted her estate to live on to help the citizens and pets of southern West Virginia. In 2015, per Loretta’s will, endowments were established at Beckley Area Foundation to benefit four charitable organizations. This fund income will be directed to Hospice which exists to serve the needs of individuals suffering from life-limiting illnesses as well as to serve the people caring for them. Their emphasis is on comfort and quality of life as they provide the physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs of the terminally ill. Mrs. Hunter was served by Hospice prior to her death.
