A 1999 gift of appreciated stock from Dr. and Mrs. Loflin started this unrestricted fund. “Mabs” served aa BAF board member, treasurer, and board president. A graduate of Mary Washington College she was active in the community through the Beckley Junior Woman’s club, Phymosia Garden Club, the New River Dental Auxiliary, the WV Dental Auxiliary, and St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church. Paul graduated from Woodrow Wilson HS, Marshall, and the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery, Dental School, University of Maryland. In addition to extensive participation in professional organizations, he served on the Beckley City Council, Raleigh County Board of Health, and the Horizon Bank board. This endowment will generate unrestricted income which can respond to the ever increasing number of requests submitted to BAF in its annual grant proposal review.
