Edna May Cole Silvers left a testamentary gift generating annual income for use by the local Salvation Army. Edna was born in 1905 at Hawks Nest in Fayette Co., WV. She suffered significant health problems while in high school and with great determination was able to earn her diploma even though she had to return to school when she was older than the other students. She married J. Waldo Silvers and served as postmaster at Nuttallburg and postal clerk at Bradley. She was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church of Calloway Heights.
