Since its founding in 1985, the Beckley Area Foundation has awarded more than $29 million in grants and scholarships overall, reflecting its long-term commitment to supporting communities across Raleigh, Wyoming, McDowell, Webster, and Fayette counties.
This past fiscal year, the Foundation has distributed over $1.99 million in grants to nonprofit organizations and $736,000 in scholarships to students pursuing higher education, contributing to the broader $29 million total.
The Beckley Area Foundation currently manages 574 individual funds, representing a strong and growing network of donors dedicated to improving the region.
Through its grantmaking and scholarship efforts, BAF supports a wide range of initiatives, including education, community development, and nonprofit services that address critical local needs. These accomplishments are made possible through the continued generosity of the local community, whose support allows the Foundation to create lasting impact across Southern West Virginia.
By connecting donors with meaningful opportunities to give, the Beckley Area Foundation continues to play a vital role in strengthening the region and expanding opportunities for future generations.
