This need-based scholarship is designated for St. Francis de Sales School students with preference given to those who pursue a health related career. Students who plan to be teachers will receive secondary consideration. Ida Pitotti remembered her sister Rena with this permanent memorial. Ida first received a teaching degree at Concord College but then pursued a nursing degree at Johns Hopkins. Ida’s name was added to this fund shortly before her death in 2019. After graduating from Trap Hill High School as valedictorian she attended Concord College earning degrees in mathematics, biology and library science. She earned advanced degrees from Peabody College and Duke University.
