This unrestricted endowment was established after Pete’s death in 2013. He retired from Roche Laboratories in 2000 following a successful career in sales. He served on the Board of Trustees of the First Baptist Church, the Raleigh County Board of health, and the Salvation Army. A member of the Beckley Rotary club, he also served as an interim member of the Beckley Common Council. His wife of 46 years, Beverly “Cookie” Thompson Francesa was a long-time educator in the Raleigh County Public School System. “Cookie” passed away in 2023.
