Patricia E. & Clyde D. Peters Memorial Fund

This unrestricted endowment was funded by her husband Clyde Peters. It serves as a permanent memorial to a woman who was an outstanding Raleigh County educator as well as wife and mother. Pat Peters taught science classes at Stratton & Park Junior High Schools prior to her retirement. She was particularly interested in earth science and authored several articles about the geology of the New River Gorge. She was active in the New River Concert Band and handled their publicity. Mr. Peters added his name to the endowment in 2003. He was a 1960 graduate of Gramby High School in Norfolk, VA, received his B.S. from Concord College and an M.A. in counseling from West Virginia University where he was a member of the Phi Delta Kappa Honorary Fraternity. Clyde passed away in 2019. Fund income will be used to meet the ever increasing requests for support from area non -profit organizations in BAF’s annual grant program.
