This unrestricted fund was started by brothers Pete and Steve Torrico, sister Susan Torrico Rice and her husband Loren. Utilizing the Foundation’s ‘building over time’ option they created a living memorial to their parents, who were lifelong residents of Raleigh County. The fund also serves as a permanent recognition of the contributions Mary Lee and Pedro made as outstanding parents and good community citizens. Unrestricted endowments support BAF’s annual Community Grant Program awarding grants to local nonprofit organizations involved in the arts, education, health & human services, civic beautification, animal welfare and public recreation.
