The Dr. Thomas Walker Health Foundation honored their attorney of many years, David T. Kennedy by establishing this fund in September 1997. The Beckley Area Foundation also benefited from Mr. Kennedy’s legal services. Originally, designated as a donor advised fund, Mr. Kennedy advised how the income was distributed; one of the Kennedy family’s interests was the Women’s Resource Center. Following his 2003 death, this organization was name as the designated beneficiary of the fund’s annual income.
