Ruth Wilson made provisions in her will for a permanent endowment to be started in memory of her parents. Income from this fund is designated for the Beckley Presbyterian Church. Ruth passed away in 2003 and two endowments were created in July 2004. This one benefiting her church and a second one benefiting BAF’s annual community grants program. Ruth was born in Raleigh County and attended local schools. She graduated from Sullins College and immediately went to work. She retired after 45 years of employment with the Managerial department of Appalachian Power Co., now AEP.
