E.M. and Maude Gwinn Beasley Family Fund

The purpose of this fund established in 1994 is to honor the memory of two completed lives, by enhancing the quality of life of children. Beginning his career as a “trapper-boy” at Scarbro, Mr. Beasley moved progressively through the ranks of labor and management in the mines of the New River Company. Mr. and Mrs. Beasley were born at Quinnimont and Wright, respectively, and began their lives together at Scarbro. This fund was established by the Arlene Beasley Education Fund. Annual fund income is designated for use by the Superintendent of Raleigh County Schools to provide academic, nutritional, apparel and other essentials to disadvantage elementary school students.
