Joseph A. ‘Jay’ Roles directed a testamentary gift to BAF funding this endowment. Mr. Roles was a 1954 Woodrow Wilson High School graduate having served in the United States Air Force and the US Army National Guard. His wife was born at Kilsyth, the daughter of Dexter ‘Deck’ Vance and Beulah Louise Murdock Vance. Jay and Carol were married for 64 years and were co-owners and operators of Jay Roles Floral for 34 years. This unrestricted fund will provide a permanent income stream for supporting Raleigh County community’s most pressing needs and promising opportunities in the areas of Animal Services, Arts, Basic Needs, Civic beautification, Economic Development, Education, Health and Human Services, and Public Recreation.
