Sisters Fred and Sula Soter made provision for this endowment at Beckley Area Foundation through a Charitable Remainder Unitrust bequest. Per the instructions outlined in the will; this fund has been established for the benefit of the YMCA of Southern WV for programs directed to indigent children; the Raleigh County Public Library and the Beckley Concert Association. 50% of the income goes to the YMCA, 25% to library, and 25% to the Beckley Concert Association. This is the second BAF fund established by the Soter sisters honoring their parents. Freda was a claims representative for the Social Security office and Sula was a supervisor in the business office of a telephone company. Both of them were very involved in the community.
