Just as David loved people, people loved him. Friends, family, church family, former students, co-workers and community made memorial contributions honoring the life and memory of this charitable educator. The fund honors David, his love for Shady Spring High School and its students. It will provide an award for a SSHS senior enrolling at Concord University and pursuing a career focused on helping others. A Christ follower, he was a member, elder and Sunday School teacher of Grandview Christian Church. David grew up in the Grandview, WV area, graduated from SSHS in 1970, Concord College in 1975 and WV College of Graduate Studies in 1988. His 40 year career as an educator started at Shady Spring Junior High School where he taught geography and coached wrestling. It finished at Shady Spring High School where he taught Speech, Social Studies, served as Athletic Director, Assistant Principal and Cross Country Coach.
