Wayne and Diana Bennett together spent over 70 years as Raleigh County educators working with children and volunteering to support their community. During their retirement they continued to give back to Raleigh County and established the Wayne and Diana Bennett Family Fund as an unrestricted endowment, utilizing BAF’s “Building over Time” option, to support the community grant program for Raleigh County. When asked why the Bennett family wanted to start this fund they stated, “We are certainly not rich, but we do have a wealth of friendships, acquaintances, and memories we have cherished over the years. The Beckley Area Foundation has supported projects we have been involved in, so this is just a way of giving back. Hopefully, this gesture will help make the world a little bit better.”
