The family and friends of Christie Hardin Meadows started this scholarship fund in his memory. Chris died suddenly in July, 2004; he was 56 years old. His wife Ruth and children Christy, Amanda and J.J, as well as many friends, utilized the BAF ” Building Over Time” option to reach the $10, 000 minimum requirement to established a named fund. This endowment will generate income for need and merit based scholarship for graduates of Raleigh County Schools. First consideration will be given in a Future Farmer of America student graduating from Shady Spring High School or Shady students whose parent is or has been a school bus driver or mechanic for the Raleigh County Public School System. Chris was active in the FFA, became a successful farmer, drove a school bus, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
