Massinople Memorial Fund 1

Massinople Memorial Fund 1

This endowment created in 1986 by Charles A. and Charlotte Massinople was originally designated to benefit the Reverend Paul V. Helsley Charitable Trust. A 1994 amendment designated that fund income would be equally apportioned between the Charitable Trust and Beckley Area Foundation’s unrestricted fund for the benefit of the entire community as directed through the annual community grant program. The Massinople Fund #1 supports BAF’s community grant program. Charles Massinople founded and served as president of Mabscott Supply Co. until he retired, turning the reins over to his son, Marion Charles “Mike” Massinople, Charles was a life-long member of St. Francis deSales Catholic Church and co-chair of the fund drive which built St. Francis de Sales Grade School in 1957. Charlotte was a role model as wife and mother, supporting her family and community throughout the years. Named as recipients of the 2001 Spirit of Beckley Award, Charles, Charlotte, Mike and Kitty, were honored for their extensive community involvement.
