This endowment is a memorial to lay rabbi and strong community supporter Isadore Wein who died in February 2000. Donations from his family, as well as memorial gifts from his many friends, were used to start this fund. All contributions were invested and provide a permanent source of income for such project such as maintenance expenses at the Temple Beth-El or fees for a student rabbi to conduct high holiday services. Izzy’s son, Dr. Robert Wein, stated that the purpose of the fund is very simple: “To ensure the perpetual preservation of the Temple.”
