This endowment was established in June of 1999 by and among Friends of the Beckley Library. Annual income is provided to the Beckley Library Board of Friends for the purpose of enhancing library programs and supporting developing needs. Skip Floyd, past president of the Friends group, was instrumental in starting the campaign to finance creation of an endowment. The organization was one of the first to take advantage of the Beckley Area Foundation’s ‘building over time’ option.
