Established in 1989 by her husband, George T. Coker, Jr. and the Bank of Raleigh (later City National), its income is directed at responding to proposals submitted to the Beckley Area Foundation’s Annual Community Grant Program and determined to be in the best interest of the community. Mrs. Coker was the owner of the 7-UP Bottling Co. and a member of the Bank of Raleigh’s Board of Directors.
