Jackie and Terry Musick established this discretionary fund in memory of Jackie’s parents after her mother’s death in 2015. Joyce and J.B. were married for 50 years prior to his death in 1997. He was a mining superintendent for Slab Fork Coal Company and a U.S. Navy veteran. Joyce taught for 36 years, impacting the lives of hundreds of students at Sophia and Stanaford elementary schools. The Musicks’ original gift will provide income for BAF’s strategic and responsive grantmaking to organizations and programs that address solutions to the most pressing needs in our community.
