Jon McBride, a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School who became an astronaut in the U.S. space program, established this fund to honor his parents and his son, Richard, a Navy pilot who lost his life in a tragic air accident in early 1992. The income provides a scholarship for students at West Virginia University School of Engineering.
