In 2008 Linda Wood initiated this fund as a permanent memorial to her late husband. Distributions from this fund are designated to benefit Webster County, WV under the auspices of recommendations made by the Webster County Community Fund committee. While Augusta in Hampshire County, WV became John and Linda’s home, Linda was a Webster County native. Although they resided there for only five years, the friendships they found there remained strong for thirty years later and Webster County always held a special place in John’s thoughts. John held an M.A. degree in School Psychology and was devoted to children, students, and education.
